After Flick Retirement, J.P. Buys Agrees to Fight Francisco Figueiredo at UFC on ESPN 24 – MMA Root

Francisco Figueiredo has a new UFC opponent on ESPN 24.

After Jimmy Flick unexpectedly announced his departure at the weekend, JP Buys agreed to enter and compete against Figueiredo in the UFC on ESPN 24. AgFight was the first to mention the new flyweight couple. The UFC at ESPN 24 takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on May 8 and is led by a bantamweight bout against CJ Sandhagen vs. TJ Dillashaw.

Buys won a UFC contract thanks to Jacob Silva’s first submission to Dana White’s Contender series last November. He soon made his Octagon debut, falling to Bruno Silva through the first round of the TKO at the UFC on ESPN 21 on March 20th. Markets are 9-3 as a professional, with all but one of his victories coming to a close.

Figueiredo is the brother of FFC champion Deiveson Figueiredo. The 31-year-old Brazilian began his advertising career with a three-dimensional verdict for Jerome Rivera at the UFC on 20 ESPN on January 20 to mark his career at 12-3-1.
