Alex Martinez gets a chance to win a million dollar prize.
PFL announced On Tuesday, Martinez (7-0, 1 NC) replaces Johnny Keyes to face Loic Radjabov (13-2-1) in a lightweight bout at the league season premiere on April 23 in Atlantic City, NJ.
Martinez completed his last three opponents (excluding one without competition), competing for the iKon Fighting Federation and the Brave Combat Federation. Martinez, a native of Paraguay, is currently fighting outside Alberta, Canada. This will be Martinez’s first professional fight in the United States.
Keyes’s expulsion from the April 23 event came immediately after TMZ reported that Keyes was arrested last week in Las Vegas due to a battery incident at home. The 13-year-old veteran most recently played for RIZIN, but has also previously played for the PFL and UFC.
MMA Fighting has reached out to the PFL for comment regarding Keyes’s arrest and promotion status.
