Alex Morono earns bonus by completing “Cowboy” at UFC Vegas 26
Alex Morono, Carlston Harris and Gregor Gillespie all redeemed a $ 50,000 performance bonus for their stellar work at UFC Vegas 26. Gillespie received a Fight of the Night bonus for his fight with Diego Ferreira, while Morono and Harris were awarded for their final Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Christian Aguilera, respectively.
Morono captured his overnight bonus payout after losing Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in the first round of the main welterweight event. Morono surprised Cerrone with a duck upwards, before continuing with a barrage of strikes that eventually led to referee Marc Coddard stopping the match 20 seconds left in the first round.
Gregor Gillespie won his match with the night bonus after a rather forward and backward first round before Gillespie took control in the second round. Gillespie leveled Ferreira in the second and then threw ground and pounds to the side of Ferreira’s head before the race stopped and Gillespie eventually won the TKO. Ferreira could not qualify for a performance bonus as it weighed over the £ 155 limit and because of this, Gillespie will bring home a $ 100,000 bonus.

Harris secured the $ 50,000 bonus on his promotional debut after choking Christian Aguilera with an impressive drowning in the anaconda in the first round of the welterweight bout on the starting card. Aguilera tried to secure the removal of a double leg, but was unsuccessful as Harris slipped his left arm under Aguilera’s shoulder and threw Aguilera into the anaconda chuck. From there, Harris put Aguilera to sleep and will therefore wake up $ 50,000 richer tomorrow morning.
