Andre Pederneiras Discusses UFC on ESPN 31 Headliner, Aldo-Nurmagomedov Dispute

After defeating Marlon Vera and Pedro Munhoz by deciding on two key bantamweight victories, former featherweight champion Jose Aldo will return to the Octagon on Saturday against Rob Font, who is in a four-game winning streak at 135 pounds.

In an interview with Brazilian podcast Mundo da Luta, Nova Uniao leader Andre Pederneiras revealed that Aldo is finally comfortable in his new weight class and is in a great position to win his third consecutive UFC triumph at 31 ESPN at 4 December.

“Aldo is much more adapted to this department now,” said Pederneiras. “The font deserves all respect. It has two strengths: a dangerous puncture and a straight. “But I see Aldo with many more weapons to finish the fight before the fifth round.”

Pendereira also discussed the dispute between Aldo and Khabib Nurmagomedov, who recently appeared to be downgrading Aldo’s success to a new weight class. According to Perderneiras, Khabib’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, spoke to him by telephone to clear the air.

“I received a call from Rony, who is working with Ali Abidelaziz. “They were having lunch and Ali asked to talk to me,” said Pendereiras. “He said Khabib told him he had never said bad things about Aldo. According to him, it was just a bad translation made to create a conflict. “Ali assured me that Khabib had a lot of respect for Aldo and would never say bad things about him in any of his interviews.”
