Another fun middleweight game takes place this Saturday when Chris Weidman takes on Uriah Hall. There’s a pretty clear distinction between these two guys in terms of styles and what their approach will be this weekend, it’s the classic striker versus the wrestler. Weidman will be looking to take Hall down and really wear it, possibly looking for a submissive finish if she’s there for him. Hall of course wants to keep this fight standing and will likely want his space on his feet. It has been a very bumpy road for the former champion in recent years, struggling to settle into the winning column. After failing in his stint at light heavyweights, Weidman came back to 185 last year and clinched a victory over Omari Akhmedov. If he were to win this Saturday, it would be the first time since 2015 that he has won back-to-back wins. Hall would be a good solid win for him. Hall, meanwhile, is comfortably seated on a 3-game winning streak, his most recent victory being over Anderson Silva. Adding another former champion to his CV this Saturday would be great for him and he might win one of the top 5 opponents. I’d love to see him with Brunson go back and that’s definitely a possibility with a win over Weidman this weekend. I lean towards Weidman for this one though. I think a decision will win. I can see him really crushing Hall in the wrestling department, stopping Hall’s attack and slowing him down. How do you see this one going?
