Assuncao injured, ‘Matrix’ with new rival at UFC Vegas 32

Raphael Assuncao dropped out of the July fight with Kyler phillips a bicep injury, but the UFC has already found a replacement for a duel with “The Matrix”. According to Combate, a flyweight competitor, Paiva raulian, he will move to the senior weight division to face Phillips at UFC Vegas 32 shortly beforehand.

Paiva (20-3 MMA) did not reach the flyweight category limit in the last fight, but managed to defeat Zhalgas Zhumagulov by a decision of the referee in July 2020. It is not known if he will become a permanent bantamweight. The 25-year-old Brazilian has won the majority, 13 out of 20, of the victories of his career thanks to the decisions of the judges.

Phillips (9-1 MMA) holds a flawless 3-0 record in the UFC Octagon. The player joined the organization after performances, among others at the LFA and Dana White’s Contender Series galas. In his last game in the octagon of the world’s largest MMA organization, he defeated Song Yadong via a unanimous referee decision at UFC 259.

UFC Vegas 32 takes place in Las Vegas on July 24. The fight for the evening of this event will be the fight between former division champion up to 61kg, TJ Dillashaw, with Cory Sandhagen.
