Aung La N Sang Predicts ‘Very Violent’ Battle with Vitaly Bigdash

Aung La N Sang’s first two bouts with Vitaly Bigdash went to the judges, but he is adamant that the rubber match will be more definitive.

Former two-division One Championship titlist N Sang (27-12, 1 NC; 12-3 One) comes in after an emphatic knockout in the first round of Leandro Ataides, who sled a tackle. “The Burmese Python” will now face Vitaly Bigdash in the co-main event of the aptly named One “Full Circle” for the third time. The couple first clashed in January 2017 when Bigdash made a unanimous decision. N Sang repaid the Russian with a decision victory in June. Now he wants to end her trilogy with a statement.

“Very violent,” the Sanford MMA star replied when asked how he took it this time. “It will end, it will end within three rounds.”

N Sang lost his light heavyweight and middleweight titles in back-to-back losses to Reinier de Ridder, who is defending the middleweight title in Friday’s main event against Kiamrian Abbasov. He believes an impressive performance could earn him another championship shot. If not, he is willing to compete against anyone the promotion puts ahead of him.

“It would be an honor for me to be able to do that [fight the winner of de Ridder-Abbasov],” he said. “If they can’t, if the winner can’t fight, I want to fight again in early summer. I want to stay active. As fighters, we don’t have that long a career. I have 41 fights now, I want the brand of 50 fights or something like that. I want to keep fighting and keep growing as a mixed martial artist and I want to compete with the best.”

During the interview, the 36-year-old also opened up about his weight issues before his clash with Ataides, spoke about his nightmarish flight to Singapore and more.
