Cejudo calls out to fight Yan: “Put us in the cage, I’m not Sterling there. I’m much better.”

After Dana White turned down Henry Cejudo’s replacement for Alexander Volkanovski, the American actress turned her attention to someone else. It was Petr Yan.

Initially, Volkanovski was scheduled to meet in a trilogy at UFC 273. Max Holloway. However, the Hawaiian was dropped from the rankings due to injury. Many players volunteered to fill immediately, including Cejudo, who was ultimately not selected as a substitute.

After categorically saying “no” to the duel for the white featherweight division, Cejudo announced that he would be happy to take on the former smallweight champion – Petr Yan:

He is in Russia with this disgusting potato, with the Russian flag in my hand, I want to go to Russia to fight him. I would beat him at home, in front of his people.

He also added:

I will overthrow him and literally dominate him with my inventory. Put us in the cage, I’m not Aljamain Sterling there. Technically I am much better. I’m on a completely different level.

With Cejudo still retiring from 2020, Yan will be in the octagon to fight for the lost belt in a rematch against Sterling at UFC 273.
