After a violent KO win against Gavin Tucker, Dan Ige will get the fight he wants.
Multiple people familiar with the promotion’s plans have confirmed to MMA Fighting that the match between Ige and Chan Sung Jung is working for the main event of the UFC’s fight card on June 19. ESPN was the first to announce the targeted match.
Ige is looking for his first main event victory after unanimously dropping a decision to Calvin Kattar in July at the UFC at ESPN 13 headliner. “50K” won six just before losing to Kattar, but returned to the winning corner with Tucker’s KO in just 22 seconds at UFC Vegas 21 in March, and then summoned Jung in a post-fight interview.
“Korean Zombie” will try to back down after a unanimous decision loss to Brian Ortega at the UFC Fight Island 6 main event in October. Prior to this game, Jung had won first-round stopping victories against Renato Moicano and Frankie Edgar.
