Chase Sherman vs. Parker Porter rebooked for UFC event on Aug. 21 – MMA Root

Chase Sherman and Parker Porter will take another chance this summer.

Lots of people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans have confirmed to MMA Fighting that the heavyweight fight will take place at the UFC event on August 21, with a venue and venue yet to be announced. Fight Bananas was the first to report the reservation.

The fight was originally scheduled to take place at UFC Vegas 24 last month before Porter was forced out of the fight, causing Andrei Arlovski to take his place in no time to defeat Sherman at the event.

Sherman returned to the UFC in May 2020 and stopped Ike Villanueva by TKO in the second round. This performance marked his fourth straight win at the start of his second appearance in the UFC. The 31-year-old returned to the Octagon after a 2-5 record in his first run.

Porter hopes to make two consecutive Octagon victories after his first promo win over Josh Parisian at the November UFC Vegas 15 event. The 35-year-old vet won three out of four and 5-2 over his last family.
