Combate Americas Rebrands as Combate Global, Inks 5-Year Broadcast Deal with Univision – MMA Root

Latin American Mixed Martial Arts Promotion Combate Americas will be renewed as part of a five-year corporate broadcast with Univision, the leading Spanish content and media company in the United States.

The organization, now known as Combate Global, has signed a five-year media rights agreement to broadcast 30 events a year to Univision. The opening event will take place on April 9, with more details on the card to be announced in the coming weeks.

In the future, Combate Global events will be available on all Univision platforms, including TUDN, TUDN, TUDN.TV and the TUDN application. In addition, Combate Anti-Troubleshooter will be available in the recent release of the Univision service called PrendeTV.

“This strong corporate broadcast will establish Combate Global as the leading MMA brand in North American television. “The strength of Univision and the enthusiasm of Combate Global will inspire passion for a new generation of fans for the sport,” said Combate Global CEO Campbell McLaren in a statement.

According to the announcement, the name “Combate Global” reflects the addition of athletes from countries outside the United States and Latin America, “to support the country’s competitive style, similar to that of international football matches.”

In another reversal, North American football matches will serve as pioneering programming to combat world events in the hope of connecting football fans with mixed martial arts.

“We are excited to expand our relationship and look forward to developing the Combate brand in new and innovative ways on Univision platforms,” said Univision Sports President Juan Carlos Rodriguez. “With the passion of our audience for exciting, live action, Combate has partnered with our football rights portfolio to offer a strong punch one or two. Combate is a rapid rise and we are committed to offering more events than the leading Spanish franchise MMA to fight fans more than ever. “
