Contender Series Heavyweight Lorenzo Hood Suspended 2 Years for Positive Steroid Test
Heavyweight Lorenzo Hood has been suspended for two years by the Nevada State Sports Committee for failing a drug test in connection with his fight in Dana White’s Contender last October.
Hood tested positive for methenolone, a banned anabolic steroid. The NSAC unanimously voted to approve the sanction for Hood, who did not respond to the initial complaint about the positive test. He will not have the right to return to the active race until October 12, 2023.
In addition, Hood also has to pay a $ 1,500 fine – which is equivalent to 30 percent of his $ 5,000 wallet – plus $ 489 in legal fees.
The 32-year-old local from Chicago fell to Martin Bouday through the technical knockout of the first round at the Contender Series event on October 12, interrupting a series of three fights for the representative of Strike MMA. Hood is 12-5 as a professional, with all his victories coming through KO or TKO.
