Costa vs. Vettori Weigh-In Results, Faceoff, & Preview – MMA Root

The weigh-in of UFC Vegas 41 came to an end and all questions were reserved for build-up after each fighter gained a target weight.

The original UFC Vegas 41 main event between Paulo Costa and Marvin Vettori was planned to be middleweight given that they are both middleweights and all. However, due to weight issues Costa faced, the fight has been increased not once, but twice, and will now be held at light heavyweight. It was rumored that Costa would never again be allowed to compete in middleweight competition due to this fiasco.

If so, it is obvious that this fight will have much less impact on the title, at least as far as Costa is concerned. But in any case, tomorrow night, fans will face a fierce battle between these two high-energy bulls.

Paulo Costa and Marvin Vettori prepare for forward

Weight issues this week isn’t the first time Vettori has been taken aback by some of Costa’s antics, but the Italian will try to focus all his attention in the cage and prove his doubters wrong tomorrow night. Vettori shared why he personally chose Costa for this fight. The public will soon find out if this choice will pay off for Italian Dream.

Like Vettori, Paulo Costa will be looking to bounce back from being defeated by middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in this main event. This fight was Costa’s only defeat in his MMA career. Is the Brazilian a broken shell of himself after his first failure? Or will he continue to push forward as he used to do in battle?

Our Doug Murray has provided his own prediction and preview of tomorrow night’s main event, which you can find right here.

Tomorrow’s headliners came face-to-face after grappling with scale in what can be described as warm communication. See for yourself below.

Tomorrow, at the joint event tomorrow night, fans will have an easy battle between Grant Dawson and Rick Glenn. Dawson, 27, is undefeated in the UFC with a 5-0 ad record. He will face Rick Glenn, 32, an opponent with more MMA experience than any of his previous opponents. In his last fight, Glenn knocked out Brazilian Joaquim Silva in the first round. Check out Dawson and Glenn’s faceoff below.
