Donald Cerrone vs. Joe Lauzon moved to UFC 274
Donald Cerrone and Joe Lauzon have a new date.
Cerrone and Lauzon were originally expected to face each other at the UFC Fight Night event on April 30; however, multiple sources have confirmed that the fight will now take place at UFC 274 on May 7. MMA junkie was the first to announce the date change.
With over 60 UFC fights together between them, “Cowboy” and Lauzon are two of the most experienced fighters on the UFC roster, but both men have had a hard time lately. Cerrone has gone 0-5 with one no contest in his last six fights, while Lawson has been out of competition for over two years and is 2-4 in his last six fights. However, with the two fighters teaming up for 13 Fights of the Night and 20 other post-fight bonuses within the UFC, a lightweight bout between the two fan favorites should be highly anticipated.
The venue for UFC 274 has yet to be determined, but it will headline a light heavyweight title fight between champion Glover Teixeira and Jiri Prochazka. The co-main event will be a lightweight title fight between champion Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje.
