Donald Cerrone vs. Joe Lauzon Shifted to UFC 274 on May 7

A slight clash between Donald Cerrone and Joe Lauzon has a new date.

Originally scheduled for UFC Fight Night on April 30, Cerrone vs. Lauzon will be transferred a week later to UFC 274 on May 7. The change was first reported by

. No specific reason was given for the move, but on a positive note, it will likely allow the two action-friendly veterans to compete in front of a live audience instead of at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas with a sparse presence.

Currently immersed in a six-match winless streak, Cerrone will compete in the lightweight division for the first time since September 2019, when he suffered a technical knockout defeat in the first round by Justin Gaethje. Most recently, the “Cowboy” suffered a TKO defeat by Alex Morono in the opening round of their 170 170 UFC clash at ESPN 24.

Lawson, meanwhile, made a three-run slide in his last outing when he stopped Jonathan Pierce in the UFC opening round at ESPN 6 in October 2019.

UFC 274 does not yet have an official location, but the promotion generally keeps pay-per-view in front of capacity crowds. The card will include a lightweight championship clash between Glover Teixeira and Jan Blachowicz.
