Drakkar Klose has issued a statement after pulling out of his UFC Vegas 24 co-main event against Jeremy Stephens.
During the UFC Vegas 24 matchups on Friday, Jeremy Stephens and Drakkar Klose had a very tense showdown that ended with Stephens giving Klose a very strong push. Although it’s not very often that things get physical during clashes, overall, the incident didn’t seem too out of the ordinary. After all, it was just a shove … or so it seemed.
Evidently, Stephens’ push had a much stronger residual effect than simply promoting the fight or venting. It caused sudden and serious health problems for Klose that forced the featherweight out of his co-main space against Stephens. Last night, Klose led to social media to provide a full description of why he withdrew from the fight.
“After Jeremy Stephens pushed me in UFC matchups, I immediately felt my hand go numb and my neck tighten,” Klose’s statement began. “Sean Shelby and the UFC officials sent me to the IP for the UFC PT staff to work for 2 hours. I spent the night eating, rehydrating, stretching, and even saw the physical therapy staff later that night.
“I woke up early this morning with a migraine / headache, nausea and the only thing that made me feel better was lying down in the dark. UFC got me medication and I rested for a couple of hours before getting up and vomiting. It was at this point that we called the UFC doctor and he made the decision to send me to the hospital. I feel sorry for everyone who was excited for this fight. I tried to do everything I could to stay in this fight, but these issues are out of my control. “
The Jeremy Stephens vs. Drakkar Klose fight will reportedly be rescheduled as soon as possible, so we’ll keep you posted on when that new date will be. There is currently no set timeline for when Klose will be erased and ready to return.
Do you think Jeremy Stephens should be punished for hurting Drakkar Klose with his strong push during UFC Vegas 24 matchups?
