An unknown injury to Drakkar Klose led to the cancellation of his fight with Jeremy Stevens in the planned co-headliner of UFC Vegas 24.
The promotion announced Klose’s rejection of the card during a live broadcast of the event at UFC APEX in Las Vegas. There are now 10 battles on the map; A UFC spokesman told MMA Fighting that the heavyweight bout between ex-champion Andrey Arlovsky and Chase Sherman will now receive co-main event status in the official roster.
Klose last appeared in the Octagon in March 2020 at UFC 248, where he was defeated by KO to Beneil Dariusz. Stevens was set to return to lightweight after a seven-year featherweight title.
The two parted during the official weigh-in, and officials split them in two after Stevens’ push.
UFC Vegas 24 will lead the middleweight match between former champion Robert Whittaker and former interim title challenger Calvin Gastelum.
