Former UFC Veteran Accused Of Battery After Punching A Security Guard – MMA Root

Anthony Martin was arrested in Las Vegas, where, according to police, a fighter allegedly urinated on the floor of a casino and punched a guard in the throat.

Police were called to Caesars Palace at approximately 1:30 am on 20 November. A security guard witnessed Martin’s actions and reported a security breach. When the officers arrived, they spoke to a security guard who saw Martin peeing in the hallway on the floor of the casino.

After checking, the detectives suspect that Martin was intoxicated. Martin, a Las Vegas resident, told the officers who arrived at the scene that he was being racially profiled.

The police report indicated that after Martin was asked by security for his ID, the former UFC welterweight champion went berserk. While the two were communicating, police statements indicate that Martin began to threaten the security officer. When the guard read a trespassing warning to Martin, the former fighter continued to threaten him.

According to police, when the guard raised his hand to talk to Martin about his behavior, the MMA fighter responded by punching the guard in the throat.

After the incident, law enforcement officials found out that both the urination and the blow to the throat of a security officer were filmed. Anthony Rocco Martin is currently charged with an administrative offense involving battery and indecent or lecherous behavior in a public place.

While in custody, Martin denied any wrongdoing. The former UFC welterweight champion is expected to stand trial on the above charges on January 19.
