Glover Teixeira completed his incredible run in the lightweight championship on Saturday, defeating Jan Blachowicz in submission.
The 42-year-old Brazilian first fought for the 205 pound title seven years ago and did not stand up to then-champion Jon Jones. On Saturday, UFC President Dana White fastened the belt around his waist.
Blachowicz landed first with a powerful kick to the foot. Teixeira quickly changed levels and put Blahovic on his back. Teixeira punched and kicked Blahovic in the body and head. Teixeira spent most of the lap at the top easily winning the first frame.

In the second round, the two exchanged early. Teixeira looked to take the fight to the ground, but Blahovic defended the effort. Blachowicz began to let go of his hands and Teixeira tied him to the clinch. Blachowicz successfully defended a second attempt to overthrow him. Teixeira rocked Blachowicz with a hook and secured a takedown in the middle of the frame.
Teixeira moved to the mount position and Blachowicz left his back. Teixeira leveled Blachowicz and locked in a free kick forcing Blachowicz to come out.
