Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been eliminated from the chase for the 265-pound title after failing to reach an agreement on a heavyweight price with the promotion’s president, Dana White.
But don’t expect that to stop you from achieving greatness.
“I’m about to give birth to something big, something out of the ordinary,” Jones wrote in Twitter. “On a path that no man on this planet has ever traveled. I can’t rush greatness. “
Maybe he will be the first man on Mars?
Jones, who will turn 34 in just a few weeks, has not competed since beating Dominick Reyes at the UFC 247 pay-per-view (PPV) event in early 2020. “Bones” then vacated his title with plans to challenge heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
For a small fee, of course.
Instead, “The Predator” will go into a rematch against Derrick Lewis sometime later this year, freeing Jones to do … whatever he’s doing.
