Greg Hardy vs. Sergey Spivak Moved to UFC 272 on March 5
Greg Hardy will face Sergei Spivak in UFC 272, the promoters announced recently.
Hardy was originally scheduled to face Alexey Oleynik at UFC 270 this Saturday, before Spivak intervenes as Oleynik’s replacement. Shortly afterwards, a horrific finger injury forced Hardy to withdraw completely from the sheet.
UFC 272 takes place March 5 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and is the first of a welterweight brawl with Colby Covington against Jorge Masvidal.
A former NFL Professional Bowler, Hardy comes behind KO / TKO defeats in the Octagon. Most recently, he suffered a 67-second knockout defeat by Tai Tuivasa at UFC 264 on July 10, which came after a second-round defeat by Marchin Tybura at UFC Fight Night 183. The “Prince of War” is 4 -4 with one without competition during his tenure with the Las Vegas-based promotion.
Spivak, meanwhile, saw a three-game winning streak end in UFC Fight Night 191, where he lost to Tom Aspinall in the first round of TKO on September 4th. Prior to that, “The Polar Bear” had consecutive triumphs over Alexey Oleynik, Jared Vanderaa and Carlos Felipe in a UFC competition.
