Impa Kasanganay books first post-UFC fight against Raimond Magomedaliev at Eagle FC 46

UFC veteran Impa Kasanganay will fight his first fight since leaving the promotion when he faces Raimond Magomedaliyev on the upcoming Eagle FC 46 card on March 11.

Eagle FC officials confirmed the bout with MMA Fighting on Monday.

Once a highly touted prospect with two wins in the UFC Contender Series, Kasanganay made an immediate impact in the UFC by defeating Maki Pitolo in his debut.

Unfortunately, things went awry in his next fight when Kasanganay suffered a brutal loss to Joaquin Buckley in a moment that went viral and was later named the 2020 MMA Fighting Knockout of the Year. Kasanganay recovered by defeating Sasha Palatnikov but then lost to Carlston Harris before exiting promotion.

Now Kasanganay will try to get back on the right track, although he will face a difficult test before his debut at the Needle.

Magomedaliev, a 9-1 Russian welterweight, has won four fights in a row, including a ground and pound bout in front of UFC and WEC veteran Anthony Njokuani at Eagle FC 44 in January. He will look to make this series five in a row against Kasanganai in March as part of an upcoming card headlined by UFC veterans Kevin Lee and Diego Sanchez in a 165-pound special fight.
