Jessica Andrade Explains Why Shevchenko Is #1 P4P Over Nunes – MMA Root

Jessica Andrade thinks she’s fighting the best pound-for-pound woman on Saturday night at Valentina Shevchenko.

In the first of the title fights at UFC 261, Andrade will face Shevchenko in an interesting showdown. Since opening the flyweight division, Shevchenko has dominated everyone.

However, she lost to Amanda Nunes at bantamweight, but according to Andrade, the flyweight champion is the best pound for pound as she believes Shevchenko should have won.

“Valentina is the best in the UFC,” Andrade said in an interview with MMA Fighting. “I always wanted to fight her because I always want to fight the best. I have fought a lot of good girls and I think Valentina is one level above any other. Actually, his fight with Amanda [Nunes]I am one of those who think [judges] I could have given it to Valentina because she was better ”.

Andrade isn’t the only one who thinks Shevchenko beat Nunes in the rematch. However, since the fight, they have both dominated and the Brazilian even became champion.

According to Andrade, she also believes that the fact that Shevchenko fights often and fights excitingly also puts her at the top of the pound-for-pound list.

“Even though Amanda has two belts, Valentina fights all the time and always puts up great fights and the same pace from start to finish,” Andrade said. “Amanda doesn’t fight that often. He has two belts but he doesn’t fight all the time, so I think Valentina has more experience in the Octagon. I think Valentina is the best pound for pound in the UFC. “

Jessica Andrade enters her title fight following a first-round TKO victory over Katlyn Chookagian on her flyweight debut. The Brazilian is also the former strawweight champion and has legitimate KO power, which makes the fight against Shevchenko interesting.
