Joanna Jedrzejczyk is aiming for a fight against winner Weili Zhang against Rose Namajunas on her return to the cage. The fight was the fight of the year 2020 and is widely regarded as the greatest fight in the history of women’s MMA. ⠀ ⠀ Former strawweight champion Jedrzejczyk called for a “ bigger piece of the pie ” from the UFC earlier this year and said she was not interested in fighting without fans in attendance. However, speaking to MMA Fighting recently, it looks like Jedrzejczyk changed his tone during a return to the UFC. ⠀ ⠀ “I called Mick [Maynard] a few days ago and I just said “you know she’s the baddest bitch on the planet” so book the fight, watch this fight and tell everyone I’m next, “Jedrzejczyk said. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ “I was waiting for this fight. It’s COVID time, so that’s the only reason the belt hasn’t been stripped. Because once a year, you have to defend the belt. But we have COVID times but when I was the champion I was defending this belt like crazy. ⠀ ⠀ Jedrzejczyk held the strawweight title for over two years and defended it four times before losing to Namajunas in November 2017. away from the cage, she worked on her autobiography and an upcoming career documentary of fighter. ⠀ ⠀ “I was the champion for a long time. It’s been a long time. I lost the title against Rose Namajunas but I know my worth. I gave the fight of the year, the fight of the decade and I know I’m still very good. I am not wasting my time. I keep training all the time. I can’t wait to return to the American Top Team. I’m doing a big TV deal in Poland, but I can’t wait to go back to the US and start training with my team again. “⠀ ⠀ ⠀
