Jon Jones, Corey Anderson slam Blachowicz after UFC 267 loss: ‘Another one bites the dust’

Jon Jones and Corey Anderson held nothing back in their assessment of Jan Blachowicz’s submission loss to Glover Teixeira today (Saturday, October 30, 2021) at UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi.

Blachowicz, who was defending his UFC light heavyweight title for the second time, didn’t have much to offer once Teixeira brought him down. Teixeira, who came into this fight as a 42-year-old gambling loser, invaded Blachowicz with his grip and ultimately secured a bare butt choke finish in Round 2 to claim UFC gold.

While most marveled at the story of Teixeira’s return and how he managed to crush the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion, Jones and Anderson decided to jump on Twitter to shoot Blachowicz. Jones doesn’t have much of a history with Blachowicz even though he ended up winning the belt that “Bones” vacated in 2020, but that didn’t stop Jones from taking on the Polish fighter.

See what happens when you’re talking shit, without focusing on the opponent right in front of you. Another one bites the dust

Jones paid a quick tribute to Teixeira, whom he defeated by unanimous decision at UFC 172 in 2014.

“Yo Glover, you are a true friend of mine, very happy for you. Let’s go to Brazil! “

Anderson, who currently competes under the Bellator MMA banner, quickly jumped on the bandwagon to hit Blachowicz. Of course, the two fighters share a bit more history than Jones. Blachowicz and Anderson have fought twice before and even got mixed up in the media earlier this month.

“Like I said … Jan was worried about me after I ran my business and forgot that he had his own business!”

“Glover handled my light weight! Anyone can get caught with a big shot … but no luck in 3 rounds of ground and pound or a submission in the second round! “

Blachowicz, 38, remains one of the best 205-pound fighters in the world today. Despite the post-fight comments from Jones and Anderson, the Polish fighter should be able to return for another UFC title fight. After all, Blachowicz is 8-2 in his last 10 trips to the Octagon.
