Dana White said that John Jones has demons to work with and it looks like he was right.
Jones has received backlash lately, and rightfully so given the nature of his latest run-in with the law. When White was asked what he thought about the former light heavyweight champion’s arrest on domestic violence charges, the UFC president said he was not surprised to see it and that Jones has several demons to work with.
During his latest string of tweets and deletions, after his trainer Mike Winkeljohn revealed that he was no longer welcome at the gym, Jones talked a little about what some of these demons are. V Twitter a post that he deleted almost immediately, he said that among the hardships in his life were serious injuries.
“My life has not always been a magnificent person: as a child I was bullied, I lost my parents and siblings due to illness at a young age. It goes on and on, man. I have business to deal with, ”wrote Jones (h / t MMA reporter Adam Guillen for a screenshot).
For Jones, this is a serious thing that he must acknowledge and openly disclose, and he does a lot to paint a picture of why he made some of the bad decisions he made over the years. It is important to understand, however, that this does not justify any actions that supposedly happened recently, or other hiccups that he had in his life.
After all, John Jones is the only one to blame for the decisions he makes, regardless of his background. However, it’s still a tragic backstory for one of the greatest fighters ever to fight in the Octagon.
