Jorge Masvidal’s iKON FC to debut on UFC Fight Pass on Jan. 21, Jared Gooden vs. Aaron Highbaugh title fight headlines
Jorge Masvidal continues to add job titles to his resume.
According to a press release, Masvidal will be partnering with UFC Fight Pass to introduce Jorge Masvidal’s iKON FC starting at the January 21st event at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.
“I am thrilled with my new iKON FC promotion in partnership with UFC Fight Pass,” said Masvidal. “Together we will put on some of the greatest fights with the best up-and-coming talent from around the world.
“Our plan is to take this talent, blend it into our UFC Fight Pass promotion and platform, and help them transition to the greatest promotion on earth, the UFC. If you want action, look no further! Let’s go!”
In the promotion’s first main event, former UFC Welterweight Jared Gooden will take on Aaron Haibo for the iKON FC Middleweight Championship. This will be Gooden’s first appearance since he parted ways with the UFC after the promotion went 1-3 rounds. Haibo has won three of his last four matches, the biggest fight of his career so far.
Masvidal, who is also the promoter of Gamebred FC’s mixed martial arts promotion, is set to return to the octagon to headline UFC 272 on March 5 against former friend-turned-hot contender Colby Covington.
