Julianna Peña Open To Exploring Potential WWE Run In The Future – MMA Root

New UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Julianne Peña is open to a future in WWE.

The Venezuelan Vixen told the NY Post that she would give professional wrestling a shot if the opportunity ever presented itself.

Right now my focus is on combat. Later, if the opportunity presents itself, I don’t understand why I couldn’t explore this path. Definitely, I am focused on fighting for the UFC,” Peña said.

Having recently won a championship and already scheduled a rematch for later this year, Peñe certainly has a lot to focus on in his UFC career. Her next opponent, Amanda Nunes, will have a chance to regain the bantamweight throne.

Both women were recently announced as The Ultimate Fighter season 30 coaches, with a rematch expected to take place this summer.

Peña may be waiting for his WWE dream opponent

If Peña did move to WWE, perhaps we could see her entangled with someone she’s called out to the UFC for years, Ronda Rousey.

The bantamweight champion wasted no time in defeating Nunes at UFC 269 in December. She already has rivals, one of which is 2022 WWE Woman’s Royal Rumble winner Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey. Rousey returned to the WWE program last month and is currently scheduled to compete at WrestleMania this year against Charlotte Flair.

During season 18 Ultimate Fighterfans of the show witnessed the beginning of the conflict between Peña and Rosie.

Peña’s friendship with Miesha Tate solidified their tensions and, being fierce rivals, they clashed foreheads while filming the show.

The submission queen may have been the face of the UFC women’s league at the time, but Peña has never been a coward and still wants to fight her in the cage.

Let’s hope that for Peña, Rousey will play Brock Lesnar and reappear in the UFC. However, if the curtain is officially closed on Rhodey’s return to the octagon, a WWE match could settle the conflict between the two.
