Karina Rodriguez to Defend Flyweight Belt vs. Ketlen Souza in Invicta FC 46 Main Event
Karina Rodriguez will make her first defense of the flyweight title against Ketlen Souza in the main event of Invicta FC 46 on March 9.
The women-only promotion announced the race on Wednesday. Invicta FC 46 will be held in Kansas City without fans or media, according to an announcement. Broadcast information will be revealed in the coming weeks. Invicta’s latest card was streamed to her YouTube channel.
Four other matches have been announced for the card: Daiana Torquato vs. Milana Dudieva in flyweight. Danielle Taylor vs. Liz Tracy in the straw; Paulina Granados vs. Monique Adriane in individual weight and Fatima Kline vs. TBA in the straw.
Rodriguez won the gold flyweight with a five-round verdict for Torquato at Invicta on AXS last May. The native of Puebla, Mexico has won three of her last four outings in the promotion, also winning against DeAnna Bennett and Dudieva.
Souza will make her Invicta FC debut with the momentum of a three-game winning streak. The 27-year-old Brazilian scored 11-3 while competing on the regional track, with eight of her victories coming by knockout or technical knockout.
