Kevin Lee releases statement after UFC Vegas 35 loss, says haters can ‘burn in hell’

UFC veteran Kevin Lee has made a statement after losing to Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Vegas 35, and he is adamant that he hasn’t made it to the end.

Last Sunday night in Las Vegas, Lee was beaten unanimously by Rodriguez two rounds to one. At times, the former UFC lightweight title contender looked sluggish and out of place. But he vowed to go ahead and keep fighting.

“The last time I didn’t have good results, but honestly, after 500 days off and a few surgeries, I’m proud of what I did,” Lee wrote on Instagram. “I tried to climb a very high mountain and it was just another speed bump on the way. I have the best performances ahead and I know that.

“I don’t care if I have to bang my head to get there, I won’t stop until I dealt with this shit. I’m still competing with the best in the world and I’m not going to lower my head just yet. If you have anything negative to say, fuck you wholeheartedly. Fuck all the hate, scream [sic] can burn in hell. And thanks to everyone who turned with love. I haven’t done it yet. Not at all. “

Lee’s failure was his fourth in five previous trips and followed a year-long layoff due to serious knee injuries that required surgery. It also marks his second attempt at welterweight since his second miss in the UFC.

Lee has repeatedly called for promotions to bring in a 165-pound weight that would better fit his physique.
