Titan Fighting Championships has responded to controversy over one of its former champions.

Michael Graves, who has carried the Titan FC welterweight title in his last three fights, appears to have sent a slew of disturbing social media posts and messages via direct message to MMA reporter Amy Kaplan. One tweet sent out by Kaplan especially caught the attention of the MMA community.

Kaplan tagged Titan FC in her response to Graves’ posts, which were captured using a screenshot. MMA Fighting contacted Titan FC’s COO Lex McMahon, who issued a statement confirming that Graves has not (and has not been for some time) with a promotion contract.

“We are aware of the ongoing situation with Mike Graves,” McMahon said. “We have no information and Mike has not been a contract titan fighter for a while.”

Graves is also known for taking part in seasonal competitions. Best Fighter 21… He played for the UFC three times before being released after being arrested for domestic violence in 2016. Following community response to Kaplan’s tweet, Graves published many posts on the topic on Twitter, even stating that he was “in Toledo, Ohio with a dagger and a pistol.”

In his subsequent comments, Graves used worrisome and offensive language, targeting the media and UFC President Dana White.
