Michael Hunter rejected the fight with Filip Hrgović for the IBF belt eliminator

Unfortunately, there will be no two promising heavyweights. IO 2016 bronze medalist – Filip Hrgović was denied Michael Hunter and look for another rival.

It was supposed to be a match that would select a contender for the IBF heavyweight belt. Promoter Eddie Hearn tried to close the clash between Michael Hunter and Filip Hrgovic, but negotiations were wasted when the American refused to sign.

Hunter acted weird and I feel sorry for Filip because he was trying to get the meeting in the ring at all costs. Unfortunately, we have to sit down at the table again and look for another player. I sent the contract to Hunter, but his camp wrote back that he was resigning from the duel – says the Matchroom Boxing boss for Boxing Social.

Well, for a boxer from Croatia it was supposed to be a real test on professional rings. Hrgović is a bronze medalist in the 2016 Summer Olympics. At the moment he has fought 10 professional fights and won each one without any problems, but in recent months he has been looking for a strong rival.

Interestingly, it is possible that Eddie Hearn will be tempted to match Filip with Joseph Parker, who defeated Dereck Chisora on points in the last fight. However, the hard-hitting Brit would like a rematch and disagree with the duel’s verdict.
