The Ultimate Fighting Championship can seemingly combine two reliable welterweights games for potentially exciting results.

Per MMA DNA on Friday, 170kg was booked for UFC Fight Night 197 on November 13th. Inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Miguel Baeza (10-1) will square with Kalinn Williams (12-2). In its Instagram stories, the MMA Masters Baeza gym confirmed the pairing shortly after its announcement.

Baeza suffered his first career defeat in June, resulting in a unanimous verdict on Santiago Ponzinibbio. Prior to the loss, “Caramel Thunder” had defeated all 10 men he faced, including three inside the octagon. All three of his UFC victories at this point had stopped in the second round, knocking out Hector Aldana and Matt Brown before hitting Takashi Sato in November 2020. The 29-year-old from Florida is celebrating a high 80% career finish which started in 2015.

Williams returned from his first defeat on the UFC roster – a decision back to Michel Pereira – claiming a card victory over Matthew Semelsberger in June. “Khaos the Oxfighter” appeared on stage in 2020 when it burned Alex Morono in 27 seconds at UFC 247 in its short commercial debut, only to resume after 30 seconds hitting Abdul Razak Alhassan later that year. Like his enemy, Williams maintains a knockout rate of more than 50%, just one submission to his book, and neither he nor Baeza have ever stopped as professionals.

On November 13, UFC Fight Night 197 will take place in Las Vegas at the UFC Apex, with a long-awaited feudal clash between Max Holloway and Yair Rodriguez. While the official match schedule has not yet been determined, additional key matches on the card include a featherweight bout between Felicia Spencer and Leah Letson, a flyweight bout for Jessica Eye against Andrea Lee and a midweek rematch between Kevin Holland and Kyle Daukaus.
