Brendan Locknein will enter the League of Professional Fighters books as the fighter with his first finish in the 2021 season, and he got it in a devastating way.
Locknane kicked off his season by battling UFC veteran Shaymon Moraes in Friday’s PFL 1 preview showdown, the first since COVID-19 canceled the 2020 campaign.
Locknein displayed an active and powerful arsenal on his feet and severely injured his opponent. When it seemed like Moraes had found an opportunity to recover, he landed with very high precision before ending the fight with a fierce right-handed punch that caused Moraes to clumsily land on the fence.
Take a look at the finish below.
This was Locknane’s third appearance in the promotion since signing with the PFL in 2019, following an insult from Dana White in the Contender Series earlier that year. Loughnane showed impressive performance in 15 minutes in his DWCS win over Bill Algeo and did not receive a contract.
With the win, Locknein is in an excellent position, with six points in his regular season and almost no damage in a duel that lasted just over two minutes. Moraes has already lost three in a row and four of his last six matches.
