Pros react to Chris Weidman’s gruesome broken leg at UFC 261 – MMA Root

In a shocking turn of events, former UFC middleweight Chris Weidman suffered the same injury as his two-time rival Anderson Silva when he broke his leg in a hit tested by Juraj Hall at UFC 261.

Weidman’s leg wrapped horribly around Hall’s shin, and he fell onto the mat, dropping onto his right leg. The former champion writhed in pain when the fight was immediately canceled just 17 seconds after the start of the pay-per-view fight at the Vystar Veteran Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

Viewers sat in shock, and some behind the UFC commentary booth cried as Weidman was put on a stretcher and led out of the octagon.

Here’s how the fighters reacted to the end of the fight.
