Raoni Barcelos vs. Trevin Jones set for Dec. 18 UFC event
A thrilling bantamweight bout has been added to the latest UFC event of the year.
Several people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans have confirmed to MMA Fighting that Raoni Barcelos and Trevin Jones will meet at the UFC event on December 18 at APEX. MMA Junkie was the first to announce the booking.
Barcelos will be looking to get back on track after his first loss to the UFC, ending a nine-fight overall winning streak when he lost by majority decision to Timur Valiev at UFC Vegas 30 in June. The former RFA champion has five victories in the Octagons, including early victories over Kurt Holobau, Chris Gutierrez and Carlos Huachin, and decision victories over Khalid Takha and Said Nurmagomedov.
Jones will also be looking to bounce back from his first promotion, losing a third round submission to Saidekub Kahramonov in August at UFC Vegas 34. Prior to that, the “5 Stars” stopped Mario Bautista with punches at UFC 259 and Valiev in his octagon. a debut before a positive marijuana test led to the latter result being overturned by the Nevada Athletic Commission.
The UFC event on December 18 will be heralded by a heavyweight title fight between former title challenger Derrick Lewis and up-and-coming Chris Daukaus.
