Renan Ferreira-Fabricio Werdum Bout at PFL 3 Overturned to No Contest – MMA Root



The New Jersey Sports Audit Board overturned Renan Ferreira’s first-round knockout victory over Fabricio Werdum in the third regular season of the 2021 Professional Fighters League in a non-competitive competition.

was the first to report the news. After returning to first place, Ferreira found herself trapped in a drowning triangle. At one point, Werdum appeared to get a quick tattoo of his opponent and then relax for a while. When referee Keith Peterson failed to see the tap, Ferreira capitalized and unloaded with a hammer to force the 2:32 stop in Round 1.

The PFL confirmed the decision and announced that both Werdum and Ferreira will receive a point in the regular season heavyweight division standings. Meanwhile, Werdum director Ali Abdelaziz took to social media

by decision of the NJSACB.
