We are fortunate to live in a state where so many successful promotions are setting up exciting cards almost every month.

Let’s get it right. Here are the top 5 current MMA promotions in Colorado and a brief summary that brings them all to a table:

1.) Ring of Fire Promoter: Sven Bean – The granddaddy of them all. The Colorado fight Most fans in the state first think of in terms of Colorado MMA. I went to my first Ring of Fire show where the fights were held in Castle Rock, and they never let them down. The first promotion card was held on March 18, 2000 and featured notable fighters Nathan Marquardt and Leonard Garcia. Ring Of Fire saw many other high-profile fighters including the likes of Eliot Marshall, Mike Nickels, Donald Cerrone, Shane Carwin, Carlos Condit, and Duane Ludwig just to name a few.

2.) Kickdown MMA Promoter: Steve Alley – Coming short, Kickdown MMA promotion has been fighting in Colorado and Wyoming for years now, making it a staple of the Colorado MMA scene. The first fight of promotion took place in Golden on February 23, 2002. The dance room of the Red Lion hotel in Denver is where most of the Kickdown MMA events take place, making for a great night of fight nights.

3.) Fight to win Promoter: Seth Daniels – Fight To Win is one of the newest promotions from events in early 2008 and is fast becoming one of the top promotions in Colorado. At the time of this writing, Seth Daniels had just made Colorado history with “The Professionals,” which was billed as the state’s first professional card. Fight To Win hosts occasional Tournament Of Champions competitions, which are welcomed in the region as much as they want.

4.) Rocky Mountain Bad Boyz Promoter: Keith Schmeltzer – Promoting MMA cards in both Denver and Greeley, RMBB has been running shows since 2005. In addition, MMA fights in Northern Colorado needed a nice RMBB number.

RMBB has not fought Mercy Extreme Fight due to the number of years in operation, but it is certainly one of the top 5 promotions in the state, hosting a number of events a year. Check them out!
