The TUF 29 season will include coaches Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega
UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and no. 2nd contender Brian Ortega is ready to train for the 29th season of “The Ultimate Fighter”, before the featherweight title fight.
Season 29 will feature contestants competing in both the middle and junior divisions.
UFC President Dana White officially broke the news to ESPN last Friday. The show will air on ESPN + in the United States.
The pair were originally scheduled to face the UFC 260 title as the main pay-per-view event, however Volkanovski was forced to draw the card due to a positive test for COVID-19 and as a result the match was rejected.
“The Ultimate Fighter” has not been televised since 2018, when Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum trained in heavyweight and female featherweights at Fox Sports 1.
TRENDS> UFC 261 and UFC 262 sold out despite COVID concerns
Demonstration talks have been going on for some time, with rumors that Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington would return as coaches, as well as rumors of Masvidal coaches vs. Kamaru Usman.
However, the promotion eventually decided Volkanovski and Ortega as coaches for the return of TUF.
The 29th season is said to begin filming later this month and the featherweight title fight between Volkanovski and Ortega will be scheduled after the 29th season is over.
