Straw and lightweight championship gold will be on the line when Invicta Fighting Championships debuts on AXS TV next month.
The offer announced Wednesday that Invicta on AXS TV will focus on a clash between Karina Rodriguez and Daiana Torquato over the λ 125 empty belt on May 21. In the co-main event, Alesha Zappitella will defend her 105 pound title against Jessica Korea Delboni.
Five other matches have been confirmed for the card: Emily Ducote vs. Liz Tracy at strawweight. Taneisha Tennant vs. Hope Chase at bantamweight. Juliana Miller vs. Claire Guthrie in flyweight. Josee Storts vs. Maria Favela in flyweight and Fatima Kline vs. Ariana Melendez in strawweight.
Rodriguez of Mexico has a 4-2 record with Invicta since 2017 and will miss the decision of Bellator Vanessa Porto’s current talent at Invicta FC 38 in November 2019. She has remarkable victories over DeAnna Bennett and Milana Dudieva and is 8-4 as a professional ensemble.
Torquato will make its commercial debut in a seven-game winning streak set in the peripheral circuit in Brazil. The 30-year-old representative of Thailand Brazil is 9-3 as a professional with five of her victories coming in the background.
Zappitella won the atomweight crown in her last outing as she defeated Ashley Cummins in a fourth round of choking on the shoulder at Invicta FC 42 in September 2020. Half Pint has won her last three races in the women’s body.
Delboni fought with the same card, winning a three-phase verdict against former champion Herica Tiburcio. The 27-year-old Parana Vale Tudo has won three of its last four seasons, a stretch that also includes a triumph against Lindsey VanZandt.
