UFC Fight Night results highlights Uriah Hall ends Anderson Silva's UFC

Anderson Silva had already solidified his UFC legacy before his UFC Fight Night main event with Uriah Hall, but was trying to make a final statement on his last trip to former middleweight champion Octagon. The end of the tale, however, would not be with Hall Las Vegas scoring a knockout goal in round four at the UFC Apex facility. For most of the fight, Silva and Hall stood in front of each other while looking for openings and were misled. It was made for a slow pace to early rounds, with shells tied to a minute or two. Having entered the Octagon with a 1-6 run, Silva tried with occasional rush to show the glare of his past greatness, but could not collapse Hall’s jaw. Hall slowly began to piece together Silva’s timing, paving the way for a big main in Round 3. As Silva attempted to get in, Hall threw a missed left hand, but followed Silva with a right hand that broke towards the temple. Silva fell on the canvas and Hall panicked on the floor, throwing Silva’s head off the canvas. With 10 more seconds Hall would have had the right to stop, but Silva was rescued by the bell. Round 4 things did not get better for Silva. He tried to shake the spiderwebs from the previous knockout, he was thrown forward with kicks, but Hall slid back and threw a straight right hand that dropped Silva again. This time, there wouldn’t be a bell to save Silva, as Hall fired a series of fierce punches that forced the referee Herb Dean to stop the battle at the 1:24 mark of Round 4. It was the last moment of Silva’s UFC career. It is reminiscent of Forrest Griffin his own iconic knockout in 2009, when Silva used his head motion to avoid a Griffin attack before delivering a single punch. After the fight, Hall and Silva shared a moment, apologizing to one of Hall idols for the victory, saying, “I love you. I am very sad. “I can’t really describe it, it’s just too much emotion,” Hall said in a post-fight interview. “Hats off to the legend for what he did in sports … It was too much emotion. I know the job was to go there and get W, but separating the emotions was just the thing. I was honored to share that moment with him. Silva had told the Octagon that the fight would be his last step as an active fighter, but he took that point home in his own post-fight interview. Can’t get enough boxing and MMA?
