Renato Moikano never once let Jay Herbert go into action on their UFC Vegas 30 main opening. Repeated takedowns left the distinguished British specialist little time to work, and a second round takedown led to Moikano’s quick shot win.
The fight was canceled at 4:34 am in the middle frame as Herbert was trapped in a rear naked choke. As soon as Moikano raised his hands and squeezed them, Herbert obeyed. That was all he could do after being dominated in the grappling department.
Take a look at the finish below.
Herbert got a few shots before he hit the carpet for the first time in the first round, and that set the tone for the rest of the fight. Moikano moved quickly forward, riding several times as Herbert struggled to get to his feet. At the end of the first, he managed to do just that and hit Moikano with a well-placed right hand and lead a left hook. But he soon returned to the canvas.
Moikano turned his back to the fence to Herbert when he put his foot out and got the footrest. As soon as Herbert offered space, the Brazilian spread his arms and squeezed them.
Moikano returned to the winning column after being knocked out by Rafael Fiziev in his previous match. Herbert is now losing in a row after being knocked out by Francisco Trinaldo, which sparked controversy outside the cage.
