Tanner Boser and Ovince Saint Preux met in a heavyweight clash tonight (Saturday, June 26, 2021) within UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada at UFC Vegas 30.
Boser opened with a strong low inside kick. Other. “OSP” verified an external low kick well, but then Boser landed on the body. The giant overhead swing landed hard for Boser, followed by another slashing low kick. Boser really got to work with those kicks! Boser kept cutting the leg, and “OSP” didn’t seem to have a great response. Boser’s strategy of feinting big changes and ripping kicks between those attacks worked like a charm. Saint Preux finally landed a strong kick, but it was almost entirely one-way traffic for five minutes.
Boser’s cross hook combo elicited a solid kick from “OSP”. A couple of heartbreaking body kicks are the score for “The Bulldozer.” Saint Preux attempted a double leg shot, and ended up ending a trip from the clinch! Boser was able to regain his full guard, but Saint Preux broke down. About a minute later, Boser was able to get back to his feet, perhaps with the help of a grip from the cage? In breaking the clinch, Boser crashed into Saint Preux with an ugly knee in the clinch. Saint Preux got hurt, and Boser followed up with a series of hard blows to finish the job.
This was a really strong display from the Canadian, who smashed his foe with range kicks before the knockout. Did you hold onto the fence? It seems to me that Boser just shoved him with a clenched fist, but who can say for sure from a blurry camera angle.
Result: Tanner Boser defeats Ovince Saint Preux by knockout in the second round
