UFC Vegas 30 video: Jeremiah Wells faceplants Warlley Alves with punch – MMA Root

Jeremiah Wells made a stunning impression in his debut Octagon, beating Worley Alves with his right hand just 30 seconds into the second round of their UFC Vegas 30 qualifier.

Alves came facing the canvas when Wells’ momentum caused him to topple over his opponent briefly in the first big exchange in the second frame. Several right hands, at least one of which came well after the intervention of referee Chris Tonioni, sealed the deal.

Take a look at the finish below.

Wells’ enthusiasm for the knockout punch showed early on as he dashed after veteran Alves and swung huge hooks. Alves managed to get out of the way and even used that momentum to his advantage by jumping on the guillotine, which forced Wells to stop. By the end of the first session, it was doubtful whether Wells would be able to continue at the pace.

But as it turns out, it didn’t take him long to cut out a few frames for his main cinematic in his debut octagon, which boosted his current winning streak to three fights. Alves, winner of the TUF Brazil 3 tournament, continues to swap between wins and losses after a quick win over Munir Lazzez in his previous performance.
